Frequently asked questions

How does AI meal scanning work?

EatScan lets you photograph a meal using your camera or select a photo from your gallery. The image is sent to our AI service, which identifies ingredients and estimates nutritional content. Results are approximations — always verify values for dietary-sensitive decisions.

What is EatScan Premium?

Premium unlocks the AI Nutrition Coach, unlimited meal scans, and advanced analytics. Subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and renew automatically unless cancelled.

How do I cancel my subscription?

  • iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → EatScan → Cancel
  • Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → EatScan → Cancel

Cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal date to avoid being charged.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open the app, go to the Paywall or Profile screen, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Account & Privacy → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, food diary, health data, and all associated information from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

Can I export my data?

Data export is not available in the current version. Contact hello@typecode.app for manual data requests.

HealthKit / Health Connect is not syncing

  • iOS: Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → EatScan and ensure the required permissions are enabled.
  • Android: Open the Health Connect app, go to App Permissions → EatScan, and grant the required permissions.

The AI scan result is inaccurate

AI estimates are approximations. You can edit any scanned meal before saving — tap on individual ingredients to adjust portions or replace items.
